Lawrence County District Judge Angela Terry&#8217;s ruling states the county\u2019s animal control officer, Kimberly Carpenter, has custody of the 35-year-old African elephant. &#8220;We were very excited and very relieved,&#8221; Carpenter said. &#8220;I will get with Callie (Waldrep, assistant district attorney) and the commissioners to discuss this.
