{"id":751396,"date":"2018-02-19T14:48:59","date_gmt":"2018-02-19T14:48:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arkcenter.us\/?p=751396"},"modified":"2018-02-19T14:48:59","modified_gmt":"2018-02-19T14:48:59","slug":"judge-deals-major-blow-to-animal-rights-groups-lawsuit-against-sonora-turkey-farm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/animalrightswatch.us\/?p=751396","title":{"rendered":"Judge deals major blow to animal-rights group\u2019s lawsuit against Sonora turkey farm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ALEX MACLEAN:<\/strong> <em>&#8216;A Bay Area animal-rights group that\u2019s suing Diestel Turkey Ranch can\u2019t challenge the Sonora-based farm\u2019s use of certain claims on product labels because they were pre-approved by the U.S. Department of Food and Agriculture, according to a ruling earlier this month by Alameda County Superior Court Ioana Petrou&#8230; The group plans to continue pressing forward with the lawsuit over the company\u2019s claims on its website and other marketing materials that are not approved by the USDA&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Direct Action Everywhere, also known as DxE, filed the lawsuit against Diestel Turkey Ranch in January 2017 after releasing a report just before Thanksgiving in 2015 that chronicled a yearlong investigation of the family-owned company\u2019s farming practices.
