It\u2019s saying you can\u2019t have a cat'.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>RT NEWS:<\/strong> <em>&#8216;A council in New Zealand\u2019s Southland region has sparked fury and indignation after proposing a ban on all cats, effectively eradicating feline populations within a generation&#8230; The Omaui village\u2019s so-called &#8216;pest plan,&#8217; would create a feline registry in which all domestic cats are neutered, microchipped and registered&#8230; The regional council proposed the ban as a measure to protect indigenous wildlife&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Nico Jarvis, Omaui resident and owner of three cats, likened the proposal to living under the yoke of a \u201cpolice state\u201d&#8230; \u201cIt\u2019s not even regulating people\u2019s ability to have a cat. It\u2019s saying you can\u2019t have a cat,\u201d Jarvis said, adding that a petition to counter the proposal is already in the pipeline and boasts the support of many people in the community.
