Now, PETA \u2014 recognizing that all experimentation on animals is cruel and unethical \u2014 has created \u201c<strong><u><b><a href=\"https:\/\/collegevivisection.peta.org\/\">Failed Tests<\/a><\/b><\/u><\/strong>,\u201d an interactive feature that ranks colleges as \u201cbad,\u201d \u201cworse,\u201d or \u201cworst\u201d for animals.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The grades are based on the number of animals covered by the federal Animal Welfare Act (AWA) \u2014 including pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits, and monkeys \u2014 who are held and used in experiments at the school, the amount of government funding received from the National Institutes of Health, and the number and severity of a school\u2019s AWA violations&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Numerous published studies have shown that animal experimentation wastes resources and lives, as more than 90% of highly promising results from basic science research\u2014much of it involving animal experimentation\u2014fail to lead to treatments for humans.
