PETA took to Twitter on Tuesday to suggest using animal names as insults was a form of oppression.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCalling someone an animal as an insult reinforces the myth that humans are superior to other animals and justified in violating them,\u201d the animal rights group stated. \u201cStand up for justice by rejecting supremacist language&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PETA social-media reps also included a chart detailing the human \u201csupremacist\u201d terminology and suggesting alternative language such as using \u201ccoward\u201d instead of \u201cchicken,\u201d \u201csnitch\u201d in lieu of \u201crat,\u201d \u201cjerk\u201d rather than \u201csnake,\u201d \u201crepulsive\u201d rather than \u201cpig\u201d and \u201clazy\u201d to cast aspersions onto someone with sloth-like tendencies&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That message, which has over 11,000 replies to date, was widely criticized online&#8230; In a follow-up post on Thursday, PETA asked Merriam-Webster and Dictionary.com to revise their &#8220;derogatory&#8221; definitions of pigs, snakes, and dogs&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Founded in 1980 and responsible for legislation against animal cruelty, PETA was seemingly undeterred.
