Only two states scored above 50\/100, and almost half of the states scored just 25\/100 or under&#8230; You can download your state&#8217;s trapping report card and contact your governor about trapping in your state&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Multiple states promote cruel drowning as a \u201chumane\u201d killing method for trapped animals, despite it being specifically stated by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) that this drowning is categorically inhumane. In addition, advice for killing trapped animals found in commercially available trapping guides suggest that using wooden clubs to beat trapped animals to death is standard practice&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Traps can be purchased from a number of retailers, such as hunting supply stores, farm supply stores, and online retailers including Amazon and eBay. The wide availability of traps for sale online means that there appears to be no meaningful restriction on anyone purchasing a trap, even for use in illegal trapping activities \u2013 such as bear trapping.
