\u2018I Could Never Go Vegan\u2019, the newest documentary about the vegan movement and its opposition, explores the leading reasons why people refuse to stop eating animals.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\n

SOPHIE HIRSH:<\/strong> Pretty much every non-vegan on Earth has uttered the phrase, \u201cI could never go vegan.\u201d (And so has nearly every vegan, before learning about how animal agriculture affects the animals and the planet and subsequently changing their minds.)<\/em><\/p>\n

So in response to that commonly-uttered phrase, the new documentary I Could Never Go Vegan explores the \u201cleading reasons why people refuse to stop eating animals”… \u2018I Could Never Go Vegan\u2019 is the newest documentary about the vegan movement \u2014 and its opposition. On Nov. 1, the team behind the I Could Never Go Vegan unveiled the trailer for the upcoming feature-length documentary.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cVeganism: one word that divides so many people. Have you ever stopped to question why?\u201d director and co-producer Thomas Pickering says in the opening moments of one of film’s trailers. \u201cI\u2019m on a quest to find out why so many people around the world have said the following five words: I could never go vegan”…<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIn the film, we ask whether there\u2019s any justification to [these excuses], or is there something else at play here?\u201d Pickering said in a statement… So, I Could Never Go Vegan investigates the health effects of plant-based diets vs. meat-heavy diets; how animal agriculture impacts the environment; how athletes can thrive on plant-based diets; and more.<\/em><\/p>\n

And to help explore these topics, Thomas Pickering \u2014 and his brother James Pickering, who wrote and co-produced the film \u2014 feature a number of experts throughout the film, including activist and writer George Monbiot, author and social psychologist Dr. Melanie Joy, Plant Based Health Professionals founder and hematologist Dr. Shireen Kassam, and Olympic silver medalist Dotsie Bausch…<\/em><\/p>\n

Additionally, the film includes interviews from slaughterhouse workers, who discuss how animals are killed for meat, as well as how working in a slaughterhouse has affected the people employed in these inhumane facilities… I Could Never Go Vegan is scheduled to be released on Dec. 26, 2022.
