Filming recently wrapped in LA and a second phase will begin in Ukraine shortly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Penn stars in the final story titled \u2018The Eagle,\u2019 written and filmed by renowned director Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi (The Tribe), which pays tribute to a Ukrainian nature reserve around Chernobyl ravaged by war&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Penn has been one of the most prominent anti-war voices in Hollywood. He has met President Volodymyr Zelensky several times and co-directed a documentary about him, Superpower, which was initially planned before the war broke out&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>War Through the Eyes of Animals is being produced by Ukrainian production outfits SOTA Cinema Group and Kleos Art, with Oleg Kokhan and Oleksiy Makukhin serving as producers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cAll the stories in our film anthology are based on real events,\u201d noted Kokhan, \u201cand it is crucial for us that artists of Sean Penn\u2019s caliber not only acknowledge the terrifying reality we depict, but also contribute their voices. This underscores the relevance of the film\u2019s ecocide theme in Ukraine. Every bullet, every rocket fragment, and every drop of polluted fuel that contaminates our land represents a slow-acting chemical weapon that devastates our ecosystem. Sean Penn has witnessed firsthand the situation in Ukraine, making it unnecessary to convince him of the theme\u2019s importance.
