If you listen to media outlets or governmental institutions like the FBI, the message is clear, Animal Liberation Front (ALF) activists are scary, keep your distance from that dangerous crowd. THE VEGAN REPORT: Terrorism, violent, criminal, extremist, radical, illegal, those are the kinds of words attached to the animal liberation front, a global anarchist movement fighting for animal liberation. If you listen to media outlets or governmental institutions like the FBI, the message is clear, animal liberation front activists are scary, keep your distance from that dangerous crowd.

In order to counteract this dominant narrative, the North American Animal Liberation Press Office was formed in 1994 and to this day the press office takes a proactive stance to communicate the actions, strategies and philosophy of the animal liberation movement to the public. Discussion Topics: Why do you think animal rights and the vegan cause are not more appealing to a conservative audience? Would you attribute it to a failure of activists to advocate for animal rights in conservative circles? I don’t really have an answer for you about conservatives being particularly problematic, other than to say a lot of socially conservative folks live in smaller communities more closely attached to animal agriculture. There is also the fundamentalist Christianity connection and the unwillingness to question ideology.
