Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) Animal Rights Protesters Storm Biden Super Tuesday Speech

Biden supports the Farm Bill that has given $100s of billions in animal-ag subsidies and featured appearances with former U.S. Sec. of Ag. Tom Vilsack, who is now CEO of the U.S. Dairy Export Council.

MATT JOHNSON: ‘The ongoing nationwide anti-dairy campaign continued Super Tuesday as two women with the animal rights network Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) climbed onto the stage and loudly disrupted presidential hopeful Joe Biden at a Los Angeles rally. The activists, Sarah Segal and Ashley Froud, held signs reading “LET DAIRY DIE” with an image of a calf from a recent DxE Vermont dairy investigation… “We’re asking our elected officials to stop propping up the cruel dairy industry. DxE says Biden is just one prominent example of the corrupting political influence of a dairy industry which not only undermines animal welfare, but has been cited as a major contributor to climate change. The Biden campaign has prominently featured appearances by former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, who now receives a million-dollar salary as CEO and President of the U.S. Dairy Export Council. Biden has also historically supported the Farm Bill, which has authorized hundreds of billions in animal ag subsidies while rejecting activist requests to prevent handouts to millionaires and billionaires…

“Biden’s ties to the dairy industry and indifference to the suffering of farmed animals — something he basically never talks about — flies in the face of everything he claims to stand for,” said Segal. “We’re asking him to stand with animal rights advocates, environmental activists, and ordinary citizens — and against the inherent violence of the dairy industry”… With the dairy industry in steady decline, DxE is calling on Biden to end his support of the dairy industry, citing animal welfare concerns and the prominence of plant-based alternatives’.
