MILLI ROSE GUY: A new mini-documentary, part of ‘The Hidden Lives of Pigs’ directed by Tom Pickering from ‘I Could Never Go Vegan’, is now available on Unchained TV. The 10-minute film exposes the suffering of farmed animals in the food industry, which is carefully hidden from public view…
The Hidden Lives of Pigs was created with non-vegans in mind. The script and editing have gone through a meticulous revision process to create a specific rhythm that is engaging from the start for most people who consider themselves to be “animal lovers.” When it transitions from the cute to the ugly, from the celebrating to the questioning, viewers are already committed to knowing more and watching until the end.
Backed by more than $15,000 in crowdfunding support, the film explores the incredible personalities and emotional intelligence of pigs before revealing the harsh realities of their treatment in our current food system, dominated by industrial farming. The Hidden Lives of Pigs features footage from farm sanctuaries, many of which have also been featured on Unchained TV – either through their website or social media platforms – like Arthur’s Acres, Charlie’s Acres, Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries, Pear Tree Farm Animal Sanctuary, Pigs in The Wood, Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary, and Woodstock Farm Sanctuary.
The film ends with a powerful black screen that reads: “Dedicated to the 1.4 BILLION pigs killed every year to end up on our plates: your lives are hidden, but we see you.”, reminding existing vegans of our commitment to fight for the rights of our non-human friends, and non-vegans of the scale of these normalised acts of violence against defenceless creatures who are not very different from the animals we share our homes with.
