Spas and salons are investing in fair-trade, vegan, ethical and cruelty-free products. The larger undercurrent that unites this kind of consumerism is, they all share common values of being fair and compassionate to other living beings. While this is on the ethical side of things, these products are also being sought after not only by the consumers for compassionate reasons, but also for the value they add to the treatments itself.

India is the first country in South Asia to ban the import of animal tested cosmetics since October 2014. It goes without saying that India has opened its cosmetic industry to incorporate a range of sensitized products. Globally, manufacturers have started to cut back on the use of animals to test products unanimously.
