SELECTIVE OUTRAGE: When a sticker becomes more important than an animal’s life to animal rights advocates

Nonhuman animals do not care about human issues or injustices. They just want to live their lives in peace. For them, it is not a matter of left or right politics. It is a matter of life and death.

ANIMAL RIGHTS WATCH: Two recent stories perfectly exemplify the level of corruption within many in the animal rights movement.

The first story is about a political “sticker” (yes, no kidding). The following article from CNN describes this event: ‘Animal rights group offers $5,000 reward for information on who put ‘Trump 2020′ sticker on a bear’

Help Asheville Bears (HAB), an organization in North Carolina, has put out a $5,000 reward to find the person or people responsible for putting a “Trump 2020” sticker on the tracking tag of a black bear. “Whoever put these political stickers on these bears is cruel and heartless,” HAB wrote in a Facebook post.

“HAB and our followers hope to stop and expose you. This is now the second bear this happened to, which can only mean either someone in the study is doing this or it is someone in the public. Either way, a full investigation needs to be done”…

Chapman had previously come across a bear last year that had a collar and discovered that they were being tagged as part of a study by the organization The North Carolina Urban/Suburban Bear Study, Chapman told HAB.

“I believe this is an abhorrent practicum” Chapman told HAB. “These bears are already suffering enough with the heavy collars and metal ear mutilations. But to put a political sticker on the collar? No words can describe my anger and sadness.”

Dr. Chris DePerno, who is part of the bear study program, told CNN that the researchers do not condone “anyone approaching a bear for any purpose” and called it “highly unethical to place any sticker on an animal.”

There was significant international coverage given to this story, literally dozens or newspaper and online articles written, as well as much tv coverage.

The second story deals with the beheading of a pig by anti-government demonstrators in Portland, Oregon. This event was described in one of our previous posts, as covered in an article by TownHall: Horror in Portland: Rioters Light Pig Head and American Flag on Fire Near Downtown

Activists took aim at the city Justice Center creating a horrific display involving a severed pig head wearing a policeman’s hat, sitting on an American flag. The deceased animal’s head and flag were both lit on fire. Andy Ngo of the Post Millennial reported from the Justice Center.

Police found an abandoned pet pig not far from that area in the earlier days of riots; they believed that was a first attempt to kill an animal in order to send a message to the police but the perpetrators abandoned their plan before they were able to carry it out.

Reportedly, actually peaceful protesters who haven’t yet stooped to horrific animal murder found the pig abandoned and wrapped it in a blanket while waiting for police assistance. Police then contacted a retired officer who took the animal, a 300 lb pig dubbed “Debbie” by responding officers, to his home animal farm.

With the exception of the above article and a couple of others, there was virtually no coverage by the media, nor any comments and outrage shown by animal rights activists or organizations, and no rewards offered to catch the pig’s murderers. It is also important to note that this event was not an isolated case regarding animal abuse by protesters. Police dogs and horses have been often been injured in previous protests.

There is something very wrong when a “sticker” becomes more important than an animal life to those who pretend to care about animals. It is not overstating the case in making the claim that the Animal Rights/Vegan Movement has been infiltrated by too many people who are exploiting the cause of animal protection in order to further their own human agenda.

This is a deception that is causing significant damage to the movement, and is exacerbating the suffering endured by nonhuman animals. These individuals and organizations ought to be ashamed of themselves. Nonhuman animals do not care about human issues or injustices. They just want to live their lives in peace. For them, it is not a matter of left or right politics. It is a matter of life and death.
