A Wisconsin Dane County judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by embattled beagle breeder Ridglan Farms against an advocacy group that accused it of abusing animals. The breeder cited actions by animal rights group Dane4Dogs, including an ‘open rescue’ effort, and alleged that the former employee gave false testimony leading to Ridglan’s facility being investigated. In an order dismissing Ridglan’s suit, the judge held that Dane4Dogs’ actions were protected free speech, citing decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court.
