National Animal Rights Day (NARD) functions as Memorial Day and Independence Day for the animals, combined. It brings together thousands of animal advocates worldwide each year, empowering them to keep fighting for animals. The National Animal Rights Day will continue to be observed until all animals are free from human dominion, and their rights are acknowledged and protected by universal law.

OUR PLANET, THEIRS TOO: The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is an annual day observed in more than 50 countries around the world, on the first Sunday in June. On this day, special events are held in dozens of major cities, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals, and demanding their innate rights as living beings on planet Earth.

Why? Because for millennia, the rights of animals have been completely and blatantly disregarded by the human race. We do not ‘allow’ them any. Our species uses and abuses every species of animals, for every one of our ‘needs’, and in every aspect of our lives: from food to clothing, product testing to manual labor, transportation to entertainment – as if they were all ‘put’ on this Earth to serve us. Well, they were not, and we are here to remind the world of that.

The National Animal Rights Day will continue to be observed until all animals are free from human dominion, and their rights are acknowledged and protected by universal law… NARD functions as Memorial Day and Independence Day for the animals, combined. It brings together thousands of animal advocates worldwide each year, empowering them to keep fighting for animals. As such, it has been dubbed “The biggest vegan collaboration of all time”!

The NARD events include 2 parts:

A Memorial Ceremony – to commemorate the billions of animals who die every year by human hands, often in the presence of some of the actual victims who are given a proper funeral service. The Ceremony also confronts the public, respectfully but unapologetically, with the animals they eat, wear, and experiment on, in order to open their eyes. It concludes with the reading and signing of The Declaration of Animal Rights.

A Celebration – to celebrate the progress that is being made towards the end of suffering of animals, and their future liberation. It also educates the public on the cruelty-free alternatives to using animals and animal products, with plant-based food samples, speakers and entertainers. SOURCE
