Good Morning Britain (GMB) star and animal rights campaigner Anneka Svenska said she felt ‘violated’when two police officers turned up at her house over a video she had shared criticizing a facility using beagle puppies in laboratory testing. The police claimed Svenska committed an offense under the Online Safety Act.
Svenska had blasted Cambridgeshire-based business, MBR Acres, in a clip in January for its disposal methods for dead animals. MBR Acres, the only UK site currently breeding dogs for animal testing, accused her of spreading ‘false allegations’.

The presenter, 52, said she felt “violated” when two police officers turned up at her house in Kent over a video she had shared criticising a facility using beagle puppies in laboratory testing.
Svenska had blasted Cambridgeshire-based business, MBR Acres, in a clip in January for its disposal methods for dead animals.
MBR Acres, the only UK site currently breeding dogs for animal testing, accused her of spreading “false allegations”.
Police approached the When TV Animals Go Horribly Wrong presenter in June and told she may have committed an offence under the Online Safety Act.
They suggested she do an “online thinking skills” course – which would mean she would be listed as an “offender” on her record, something that could be disclosed under future DBS checks.
Svenska filmed her exchange with the police and said she felt “violated” over the interaction…
“Police should be out catching violent criminals, burglars and stalkers, not knocking on the doors of peaceful campaigners. I once reported a stalker and nothing happened. Yet officers were sent to my house after a complaint from a company”…
Svenska said the claims she had made in her video about the disposal of anatomical waste at MBR Acres were accurate and maintained that she had acted in good faith and verified her claims before sharing them.
After taking legal advice, she refused to accept police’s proposed Community Resolution and the investigation was quickly dropped with no further action. SOURCE
